Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Reviews: Best value for money in 2021

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is more than a surprise to the buyers as it has a lot more than its competitors have. From the look to performance, this phone is going to grab many buyers’ attention. Lets us find out why this phone you should not ignore.

  • Great cameras
  • Excellent battery backup
  • Affordable price
  • Full HD+ display

  • Standard 60 Hz refresh rate
  • Bloatware

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has a pretty modern design with Gorilla Glass 5 at back and front and looks shiny. It has dimensions of 165.8 x 76.7 x 8.8 mm and is a little heavy at 209 g. For users with small hands, it will be difficult to operate with one hand as it is heavy and bulky.

Since the phone is bit slippery and the shiny glass back easily catches fingerprints, you should use a phone case.

It has a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a non-stereo speaker at the bottom with a type-C USB port in between. It has an IR blaster on the top, and the right side of the phone contains a volume rocker and a power button cum fingerprint scanner.

The phone is not water resistant but it has a splash-proof nano coating technology to protect your phone from spills and splashes.

It comes with a huge 6.67 inch IPS LCD Full HD plus displays with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels at 395 PPI with an aspect ratio of 20:9. It has a punch hole at the top-center of the display for the front camera, which may be a little annoying for some of the users.

The display is quite big and bright to give you a pleasant experience with gaming and streaming movies. Though you cannot expect an AMOLED displays at this price range from Redmi which is crisper and vibrant, it is hard to differentiate an LCD display from an AMOLED display in day-to-day use.

The rear camera of Note 9 Pro has a bumpy quad-camera setup and has a 48 MP primary sensor with a six-piece f/1.79 lens, 8 MP secondary sensor with a 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, 5 MP sensor with a macro lens, and a 2 MP sensor for depth sensing.

The rear cameras capture excellent photos with plenty of details, accurate colors, and very little noise. You need a lot of light to get detailed photos and images, and at low light, images captured with the night mode are just acceptable.

It has a 16MP selfie camera sensor and supports Artificial Intelligence-based features. The front camera also captures decent photos with good color and contrast.

The main camera can record videos at up to 4K at 30 fps while the front camera is limited to 1080p. It is better to stick to the 1080p while recording with the rear camera as it struggles with stabilization.

This phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor paired with Adreno 618 GPU. This processor is built with 8nm process technology and can deliver powerful performance consuming less energy. This phone can handle all the power-intensive apps and games smoothly at a pretty great resolution.

This phone scored 274596 in AnTuTu v8 benchmark test which is more than most of the phones at the price segment.

You can play games like COD mobile and Asphalt flawlessly with Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, but playing games like PUBG at higher resolution you may often see frame drop.

The side-mounted fingerprint sensor of Redmi Note 9 Pros is very fast and makes it more easily accessible. It has face unlock features with the front camera, which is also pretty fast.

You get Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top. MIUI has come a long way and is continuously improving in performance. It is light and clean than it was earlier. Like always it provides tons of customizations but loaded with bloatware.

The base variant of Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro with 4Gb RAM + 64GB internal storage is priced at Rs.12999 and the 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs.15999 in India.

Note 9 Pro has a huge 5020 mAh battery which supports fast charging. It comes with an 18W fast charger that can recharge the battery from 0 to 45% in just 30 minutes, which can power the phone for nearly a day.

Even after heavy use, the phone will last a whole day easily and with moderate use, the battery can power your phone to last till the next day.

Though the display of this phone does not have a 90 Hz refresh rate, the phone is an easy to recommend phone as it is good looking, loaded with a 720G SoC processor, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and excellent 48 MP quad-camera setup, makes it the best value phone at present. If you need a phone with a bigger display to play games and stream movies then this phone is for you.

If you are not a fan of Redmi phones and want an alternative then you should check out Realme 6 which has a very similar specification to that of Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro.
